What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy and is a system of natural healing channeled through the hands of the Reiki practitioner. The Reiki practitioner is able to channel healing energy by direct transmission through attuned and aligned energy centers in their body and hands.
Reiki augments and accelerates the healing process and is a vehicle to becoming conscious of your own being regardless of faith or concepts. Experiencing a Reiki session promotes significant relaxation of the body and a rapid increase in feelings of well-being.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner usually observes a sensation in their hands and the person being treated feels the sensation in the area in their body where the work is being done. The most common sensations are: warmth, tingling, pins and needles or cold. Sometimes no sensation is felt even though results are still obtained.
